Let’s Talk Sisterhood

Over the last few years there has been a renewed uprising of Women's Empowerment, and particularly among communities of color with #blackgirlmagic. It is beautiful, exciting and motivating to see so many women stepping out on faith, pursuing their dreams and speaking out. I have also seen an uptick in the number of products, events and services promoted by women who are pursuing entrepreneurship.  But there is one thing that has also been very evident, and that is the underlying fear that by supporting one another there is a risk of ones own success being impacted.

Because of this I have seen women who faithfully support others get no love in return. I have seen people tell their friends that they should get products and services for free because of their relationship. I have seen women intentionally not leave room at the table for a peer because they don't want competition.

I want to share something with you..... and that is, that we cannot expect others to value and honor us if we can't show them how it's done. And we should never get so desperate for success that we are willing to take advantage of the people who have supported us along the way!

If we desire to truly see women uplifted, and to redefine the power of sisterhood it must begin with us! And guess what? It doesn't take much for us to do it.

Follow these 5️⃣ tips to ensure you’re helping your sisters out.

1️⃣ If they promote your business/events, promote theirs. Hitting the share button (at minimum) has never hurt anybody.
2️⃣ If they buy your products or services, purchase or recommend theirs. It helps to circulate coins within our own communities.
3️⃣ If they always save you a seat up front, save them one when you beat them there. Better to have two beautiful women with a seat up front than one.
4️⃣ If they check in on you to see if you’re okay, it won’t hurt you to make sure they’re good. Send a text, email, dm if you can’t make a call.
5️⃣ If you come across some good information, share it. Your uniqueness will still set you apart with the info you have.

Bottom line, competition will never hurt you if you’re #pursuingpurpose , so take a moment to help your sister girl out!

Let's embrace the movement, uplift each other and show them what true Sisterhood actually looks like!

Purposefully Yours,
