I’m Vanika Lewis and I am a proud resident in the beautiful state of California. Many in my home town know me as Lady V, a title I affectionately wear when serving along side my husband, Pastor Shamar Lewis, at Fresh Start Church.

I was born and raised just north of San Francisco in the city of Richmond, CA. As many of you may have guessed looking at my photos, I was born into a blended and biracial family. If any of you have ever visited the Bay Area and experienced its diversity then that may come to you as no surprise, as the Bay Area is one of the major melting pots of the country. As a child growing up in both a diverse community, and blended home, I learned early on how to interact with people from various cultures and walks of life, a skill that has and continues to serve me well today. But as you can also imagine, the cultural and financial diversity in our communities also brought about much turmoil and lots of change.

At the tender age of 14 years old, lost and looking to fit in, I became a teenage mother and began my journey into adulthood as a single parent. Those were some of the scariest times of my life, in hind site I see that they also shaped much of who I am today. I had my second child at the age of 19, and it was then that I knew I needed to make changes in my life. I left my job at the time and began taking classes at a local community college which changed the trajectory of my life from a career, financial and parental standpoint.

My personal testimony of overcoming the struggles of teen parenting, the doubts of raising two girls on my own, and my search for self love AND purpose drives my passion for encouraging those that I encounter to live life to the fullest regardless of what obstacles they encounter. It is my passion to motivate people to walk in their gifts and break down stereotypes that cause us to doubt who we were created to be.

I have had the privilege of doing this very thing by speaking in front of hundreds of women, conducting 1:1 Purpose Discovery Coaching, Facilitating Workshops and hosting Women’s Events. I look forward to continuing this journey and changing lives around the world one day at a time.
